Donations . . .
. . . How Nice

Thanks for thinking about donating but I don't accept donations.

You see, at the end of each day I want to be the owner of me. I believe that's important. It's important to you too because you know that you are treated equally with everyone else.

It is true that it costs a lot of money to campaign. Lucky for me, during my first campaign, my late step-father, Steve Brem, explained the horrors of accepting donations and how donations are the catalyst for bad political decisions. He financed the bulk of my campaign.

I have my campaign money, it's honest money in the form of a "line of credit" against my home. Win, lose or draw, I'll still be the owner of myself.

. . . Want to Help?

If you want to help my campaign tell your friends about me. Word-of-mouth endorsements are priceless!

If you have a computer printer you could print a few hand-out cards, or bigger cards to place in your windows.

Print a few postcards and send a personal recommendation to your family, friends or neighbors.

Endorsements

Running for a public office requires that each candidate be nominated by 20 registered voters. Aside from those required nomination signatures, I do not accept personal or commercial endorsements.

I usually obtain 40 signatures in case some of them are not valid. If you care to view the nominators, visit the Elections Office, the document is a public record.

I've seen too many heated arguments between friends caused by conflicting political endorsements. It just isn't worth having people, or a community, torn apart on such an issue.

I have always asked my staff to not participate in my election campaigns. My reasoning is that the political process should not impact my office's performance. I want the office to function on an even keel.

Therefore, the absence of personal and commercial endorsements does not imply that none are willing to endorse me, it just means that I want be re-elected without undue stress on anyone.
