When is it obvious that technology has reached a point that it defeats helpfulness?

One major complaint about technology is associated with telephones, specifically the telephone answering trees. Out-sourcing a customer's service telephone calls is another major complaint.

Obviously, we answer our telephones with real Nevada County staff who are well prepared to assist your needs.

Our treasury reached an all-time high in December at $168 Million dollars. That is 10% greater than last year. As the County Treasurer my offices receive all of the county's money, including tax deposits. We act as the bank for all outside districts and agencies within the boundary of Nevada County with the exception of the three cities, NID and the Truckee Fire Department.

The property tax roll, and four other tax rolls, totalled $160 Million; 10% greater than last year, also. We mail about 60,000 property tax bills, and process the two-installment payments.
